Ana Gonzales bio
Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson grew as a child in Mexico with a family that was devoted to music. When she was a kid, she listened to a lot of classical music and old boleros. She also listened to the traditional romance ballads as well as ranchero. Ana is passionate about opera and tangos, as well as any dramatic performance. At the age 16, she began singing and learning music with her mother. Flavio, a Mexican famous tenor, started to provide her with more intense singing instruction. In Guadalajara she studied at the School of Music of University of Guadalajara and then in Toluca at The School of Sacred Music. When she was a student, as well when she was a professional young in Mexico City and Guadalajara she was a member of several chamber ensembles as well as choruses. After moving in the United States, she performed with the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus. After 2002 she relocated to southern California. She has performed solo Latin American music for private functions and as a member Ensemble XXI in Redlands. As an active performer as well as an instructor, her love of art and music has her engaged in a wide range of initiatives. Ana was also an active member of the Community Chorus of Redlands as well as members of the Inland Master Chorale and Performance Loft. Ana is hoping that, by sharing her knowledge songs from Latin American traditional songs, that she will bring about a desire, specifically for the young generation, for keeping this music vibrant.
